Goddess of .. Uppity pricks and snobs !

Of course, things are never rarely the way you envision them.

Last night was no exception ..

The "hip club" as I remembered it.. was really just an outside bar on top of a skyscraper. Sure, it sounds cool but the sky looked like it was about to pour, it was chilly and windy (i.e. tangled hair).

Picture them just like this, except they were wearing suits! Silly, uh ?!

The "cool crowd" was really just a bunch of uppity pricks and snobs. In typical high school fashion, everyone stuck to their cliques. Every law firm had its clique.. there wasn't any mixing really. I actually saw a guy I knew from high school who, apparently, now has a french accent .. how f*cking snobbish is that !?! OMG ! Thank Lil' Jesus, I was with Lolita (Mr. Unreliable didn't show up .. see how he got his nickname!?!) so at least she introduced me to the peeps from her firm.

Goddess of .. Toys from my childhood !

I guess I'm feeling nostalgic today because I feel like posting about my childhood and the games that made it what it was !!

I was browsing t-shirts on Busted Tees and came across the following designs :

Classic yet revolutionnary at the time, the pogoball !

I loved this toy so much and played with it all the time.

Being the klutz that I am, it's kind of a miracle that
I was never injured while operating said ball..

Oh, the snapping bracelets, how I loved these bracelets ! I felt so cool, so stylish when I wore 'em..Nowadays, I must resort to stilettos to get that same feeling :) Much less comfortable, mind you.

Oh and the others :

I loved these little creatures and still think they're über cute ! I taught my mom a lesson with those, or actually, I reminded her of a lesson she taught me.

I asked her to buy me a troll (or a dozen of them) and she said : "But honey, they're sooo ugly" with the most disgusted expression on her face. So I said : "But mommy, you told me to love all people/creatures, no matter their differences" .. Needless to say, I got a collection of trolls now :o) Yipee !

I hope these little anecdotes satisfied your late friday need-to-waste-some-time ! It sure occupied a lot of my afternoon :o)

What were you favorite toys as a child ?!?

Lolita arrived @ my house 30 minutes ago. She and my Mom are going shopping. Tomorrow is Mr. Unreliable's moving day .. Lolita and I are finally gonna get to meet his girlfriend (of over a year) and hopefully, it'll all go smoothly !

Goddess of .. Turning 25 minus 1 !

I had a terribly busy but happy weekend.
Saturday was my birthday, I turned 24 years young.

I had a wonderful day with my mom @ the museum of fine arts for the Imagine : John Lennon & Yoko Ono exhibition, @ the cupcake store to buy a 12-pack of the multicolored and flavored delights, @ my house with my closest friends (Miguel, Lolita, Mr. Unreliable) drinking champagne, eating cupcakes and opening a bazillion presents !

I had an awesome time with my friends (including the high school gang) for dinner @ an Indian Restaurant .. butter chicken, naan bread, mango lassis, etc.

Sunday was a little more mellow. Woke up, went out to buy flowers for my mom, ate cupcakes for breakfast, went shopping with Mom and Lolita, bought lobsters, made my first real mayonnaise, ate lobster and champagne, watched Nights in Rodanthe with Mom and Miguel, slow danced with Miguel on a jazzy-version of "How deep is your love", went to bed with my head in the clouds ..

*sighs*

Goddess of.. Reviewing the past year's events !

Went back to court today, different court house, about an hour away from my house this time.

It went kinda smoothly, I think I'm getting the hang of it .. or I will, very soon, because I'm going back to court on friday.

Today I was thinking about how things have changed so much in a year. Around the same time last year, I was taking my first set of Bar exams.

I had no idea if I would pass the first time around ( I didn't.. Mr. Unreliable didn't either, but Lolita did ), no idea if I would pass the second time around ( I did.. and so did Mr. Unreliable ), no idea if I would get call backs for interviews ( I did ), no idea if someone would hire me as an intern ( Somebody did.. after about 10 interviews, finally ), no idea if I would move out of my parents' house ( I didn't.. but my dad did, lol, talk about an unexpected turn of events ), no idea if I would pass my driving test the third time around ( I did.. thank god, finally, it was my shameful secret for years ), no idea if or when I would get a car ( Didn't plan on it.. but it became a necessity because my work is out of town )...

Anyhow, this year has been full of accomplishments and I'm glad. The biggest accomplishment has gotta be getting my driver's license. I feared this test more than the Bar tests !

My birthday is just around the corner, this saturday May 9th, I'll be turning 25 minus 1.. so I thought it was a good time to do a little year's end review !
